Learn how company scores are calculated and how they affect your visibility in the directory.

How Scores Work

Each company receives a score out of 100 based on 7 weighted categories. The default weights are shown below, but administrators may adjust them. Higher scores lead to better visibility in directory search results.

Profile flags can reduce your score by applying a penalty. Your final score determines your star rating:

Scoring Categories

Trust & Verification

Weight: 20%

Based on your verification status. Verified companies earn full points; unclaimed profiles start at zero.

Tips to improve

  • Complete verification to earn maximum trust points.
  • Submit your trade license and request verification.

Profile Quality

Weight: 20%

Reflects how complete your profile is — description, logo, services, tech stack, and more.

Tips to improve

  • Fill in all profile sections.
  • Add a detailed description and logo.
  • Define your services, industries, and focus areas.

Activity / Recency

Weight: 15%

Rewards recently updated profiles. Keep your information current to maintain this score.

Tips to improve

  • Update your profile regularly.
  • Profiles updated within 30 days earn the maximum activity score.

Service Depth

Weight: 10%

Measures the breadth of your service lines, technology stack, and focus areas.

Tips to improve

  • Add at least 3 service lines.
  • Showcase a diverse tech stack.
  • Define 3+ focus areas.

External Ratings & Platforms

Weight: 10%

Combines ratings from Clutch, GoodFirms, and other platforms, plus the number of profile links you've added.

Tips to improve

  • Add links to your Clutch and GoodFirms profiles.
  • Encourage clients to leave reviews on external platforms.

Portfolio / Social Proof

Weight: 15%

Counts key portfolio signals: products, team members, success stories, reviews, awards, certifications, and notable clients.

  • Add products and success stories.
  • Showcase team members and awards.
  • List certifications and notable clients.

Age & Team Size

Weight: 10%

Older, more established companies and larger teams score higher in this category.

Tips to improve

  • While company age is fixed, adding team members and specifying team size helps improve this score.
